We are located on the island of St. Vincent in the southeastern Caribbean--south of St. Lucia, east of Barbados, and north of Grenada. Petit Byahaut is 4 miles north of Kingstown on the leeward side.
You can arrange through American Airlines to fly to St. Vincent via Puerto Rico. Or from the islands of Barbados, Grenada or St. Lucia (Mustique Airlines, SVG Air, Liat Airways or EC Express) connects to St. Vincent. Air Martinique flies from Martinique. We then pick you up at the airport and transport you by land taxi to our boat to the resort. (It's the only way in!)
We open November 1st through August 31st.
Use the form provided on our web page and it will be sent to us automatically. If you just want to send us an e-mail for additional information send an e-mail to info@petitbyahaut.com. You can also leave voicemail or FAX at 784-457-7008.
Not very many. We are dedicated to preserving our environment and are completely self-sustaining. We have solar power, no telephones or TVs, and as an eco-tourism resort we can accommodate a maximum of 8 people normally (private groups a few additional). Our dining room serves three meals daily and we also get day visitors and yachters enjoying our natural setting. Petit Byahaut - "like no other place."
There are a few. Bring your repellent or buy it here if they affect you. There are also some spiders - it is a jungle, after all - but you probably won't see them. We have cute little green lizards who eat the bugs. If you've been to the tropics - well, it's the tropics.
Our prices are quoted in US $. The currency used here is EC $ (EC $2.70 to every US $1). We also accept Visa, Master Card and Travelers Cheques.
The resort is located on more than 50 acres with a 500 foot beachfront, a calm beautiful bay, an impressive tropical fish-filled reef and six moorings for sailboats. The only way in is from the water. St. Vincent, the island where Petit Byahaut is located, is 150 square miles.
Yes, if you come from the North. We're very close to the equator and it ranges from 24-30 degrees Celsius, 75-87 degrees Fahrenheit. You might want to bring a light jacket for evenings in the December through February months.
You might want to print this checklist and use it to pack. If you forget some basics we do have a store with essentials. And Kingstown, the capital of St. Vincent, can be arranged if you can't find it in our store. We don't "dress" for dinner but many guests wear light cotton clothes of various styles. We also have a "library" if you forget a book. Leave behind electronics unless you've got a battery operated option. If you're going to do snorkeling or diving we have the equipment here. However, the purists among you will want to bring your goggles, snorkel, and possibly fins.
